MYOB Cloud App Integration

servicem8 provides cloud based booking, scheduling, time sheets invoicing for all major accounting programs and they're Aussie

Our Xero courses are proving very popular with bookkeepers and small business owners so ex-MYOB owner Craig Winkler (who now owns a significant shareholding in Xero) must know a thing or two about marketing but it’s important for MYOB users to know that they can use cloud-based add on services just like those available from Xero.

I was speaking with a research analyst recently and he confirmed my thoughts about the next frontier for the “fight in the cloud” that will relate to add-ons and cloud based features that build on the basic accounting software.

Research analysts usually perform detailed analysis about publicly listed companies so they can provide reports and advice to corporate investors (often the companies that are investing your superannuation) about which companies to invest in for the best “future returns” and they often have access to information sources greater than the local financial publications.

I’ve written about a the TV guy with his feet in the cloud who uses Xero, but I recently met another small business owner who spends most of his time on the road repairing kitchen appliances.

Jason from Exceltek was thrilled when he explained how their business used a combination of MYOB Accounting software and Servicem8, a cloud-based program that enables customers to

  • book jobs online,
  • have his jobs populate his calendar (on his mobile tablet) and then
  • easily generate an invoice without the double or triple data entry that most of us all hate.

When I delved into my research on this company I realised that they are a successful tech startup and they’re based in Northern Territory! Go NT. They’ve even won a Telstra business award for that state and most impressively they integrate with all of the major Australian accounting software programs:

So, when you think about cloud-based add-ons and service providers you don’t have to change software from MYOB.

You may just need to make sure you’re on the cloud-based subscription software. The great feature of this version is you have a backup of your data in the cloud!
