If this package looks foreign to you it’s because it is a relic from the past, when software came on CD’s and were installed on Windows or Macintosh computers – yes, it’s ancient.

We were clearing out the EzyLearn office when I came across this relic and wanted to share it with you as a reminder of years gone by.

These days software is updated and often you never know about it until you log in the next time.

When software started going online, in “the Cloud” and became SaaS (software as a service) it came with many benefits – just like online courses – including the benefit of being able to simply log in from any computer, anywhere.

I recall back in the late 1990’s and even in the early 2000’s how students would come and do courses in Microsoft Office JUST BECAUSE THE NAVIGATION HAD CHANGED. Can you imagine doing a course every time MYOB or Xero software changed these days!

It was these constant and regular changes that made me realise the importance of:

  1. Creating our own training materials
  2. Providing students with access to updated and additional course materials

These updates still cause pain to students and creates a workload for us when they happen because they are often simply updated and announced, causing us to hastily update our training materials when the changes are noticed.

To all the students who’ve been going through your courses while we make these changes I say “thank you for being patient with us).
