The perfect job is working from home doing office admin one day a week, yes? Most bookkeeping course graduates would agree that this is the perfect client. It means you have up to 4 days available where you can get other ideal clients and it means you work online with no need to travel (or dress up!).
This job is also involved in the growing NDIS sector so you’ll learn some great skills if you haven’t worked in the sector before. You must have experience working as an admin support person and be setup to work effectively from home.
In our Worklife video interview with Amanda from Sydney’s Northern Beaches she mentioned that she has 3 clients and that fills up 5 days a week of work and she loves it because it is less invoicing and headaches and more time with each client. She enrolled into our Xero Complete Training Course (Advanced Certificate in Xero)
It’s a perfect combination of being a useful and valuable accounts person as part of the company team but she also gets to work with other people at the other organisations and that keeps her work life interesting.
This job is involved in the NDIS sector and is run by Tarryn Corlet based in Lismore. This online and remote admin assistant job stood out to me because it involves Rostering and our team have just sent a lot of time creating the Rostering and Time Management Course for the leading Human Resources software programs:
To be an effective admin support person you need confident skills using Microsoft Office. Most students need help with Microsoft Excel but even Microsoft Word has some tricky aspects which you can iron out and master in the Intermediate and Advanced courses.
Microsoft PowerPoint is often overlooked by some office workers because they don’t need to create presentations but it is actually a basic graphics program that uses frames and layers so you can combine multiple images, create logos and do some basic graphic design.
Microsoft Outlook is the big one for time management, email comms and the other features Tasks and To Do lists that are surprisingly effective to help you keep track of multiple priorities.
