Xero has always used its partner network to reach it’s users. I remember one claim made by Xero that they are the accounting software of choice for property and real estate businesses but it was really their integration partner Re-Leased that did the heavy lifting.
I received an email from Xero promoting GoDaddy. It was a promotion where GoDaddy would create the website for you and optimise it for Search engines.
What surprised me the most is that GoDaddy will actually create the website for you – not just host it.
Why did it surprise me? Because this massive multi-billion dollar organisation is now earning “services” income by creating your website for you.
What about John Smith down the road who earns and income by creating websites for his clients? What happens to his income? If you’re a bigger business you’re probably using a digital marketing agency to build and maintain your website – what happens to their income?
Imagine if Xero started offering bookkeeping services?
The other thought I had was whether $2,700 is good value for money? I spoke to someone recently who said that they paid $600 for a website that included a years hosting.
