Xero Learn started it’s life as Xero’s Lifelong Learning Platform. It is an attempt by Xero to change the status quo of TAFE and other education institutions who have used the free trial version of MYOB accounting software for decades, since it was available as the MYOB Test Drive CD!

Xero Learn was charged out to education companies for $6 per month and at this low cost it was easy to absorb into the cost of the course – this has now changed.

Although originally offered only to universities Xero Learn was promoted via RTO’s and then eventually not offered.

Most accounting education providers offer their courses within a Learning Management System (LMS) like Moodle, Totara, Blackboard etc and often offer training in several different accounting programs. The most popular ones are:

  • MYOB AccountRight & MYOB Essentials
  • Xero Accounting
  • Intuit’s QuickBooks Online,
  • Reckon One and
  • Sage One

LIFELONG Learning is available from EzyLearn using our Moodle LMS for all the major accounting software as well as Microsoft Office and Digital & Social Media marketing training courses.

6 Months Access to MYOB Business (Essentials) for Training Course Students

One of the most common questions we get asked by students when they enrol into an online course relates to access to the software.

Years ago you could buy the MYOB AccountRight software from Officeworks for $10 and use it forever but online software like Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB Business Essentials are all subscription based and offer a 30 day free trial.

Although 30 days doesn’t seem like a long time if you are enrolled into a MYOB or Xero course that provides 12 months course access, there are ways you can still make VERY good use of these trial periods.

It’s interesting and exciting that Xero now offer their Xero Learn service to training course publishers like EzyLearn for $6 per month. This ongoing access to Xero Accounting software seemed exciting at first but then I realised that it’s just accounting software! AND it’s just for training! AND 30 days is MORE than enough per case study!

Most students don’t want to access Xero accounting software forever. Even business owners don’t really want to pay an ongoing fee for their accounting software – they want something else..
