Sage One is a relative newcomer to the cloud accounting software space but it has the backing of a massive company in the enterprise accounting (or ERP space).
With the aggressive and smart marketing machine that Xero is, it’s little wonder they would get the attention of larger accounting software publishers like Sage. Sage One is a logical place for the software giant to get business customers while they are small and then upgrade them all the way.

Before I sold the business for AccessID/EzyAccess Safety Management software, I used the business credit card for all business-related expenses. However, credit card or not, the Financial Controller for our financial team was constantly asking for hardcopy or electronic receipts.
Whether you’re a bookkeeper or business owner, receipt filing (and filing in general) can easily get on top of you. This wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t such an important part of running a business.

I’VE BEEN IN BUSINESS since my early twenties but it wasn’t until my late twenties that I had any clue about how larger companies use and pay for software. I was going through the process of selling a water filter business that I’d been operating in Sydney’s Dee Why when I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Fountainhead Water Company, Mark Darling.
Fountainhead used a specialised accounting system for the bottled water business which did everything from receipts for each delivery to capturing bottle deposits, tracking rental coolers and more — and Mark was paying hundreds of dollars per month for this software. It was a far cry from purchasing the MYOB software for a couple hundred dollars and NEVER upgrading (no payroll at the time).
