Xero Learn. Xero software offered for $6 per month. Why are businesses paying $60+ NEW: RESUME REVIEW SERVICE

It’s interesting and exciting that Xero now offer their Xero Learn service to training course publishers like EzyLearn for $6 per month. This ongoing access to Xero Accounting software seemed exciting at first but then I realised that it’s just accounting software! AND it’s just for training! AND 30 days is MORE than enough per case study!

Most students don’t want to access Xero accounting software forever. Even business owners don’t really want to pay an ongoing fee for their accounting software – they want something else..

The technology was designed as a sales tool for Microsoft to help identify software that could be utilised better at Microsoft corporate clients but it unveiled a whole privacy issue.

Is Xero the software of choice for real estate property managers

I was reading some recent announcements from Xero as they try to displace Sage as the small business accounting software of choice in the United Kingdom and notice some announcements they have about how Xero is a great tool for property management.

It was an eye opener because it shows how aggressive they are against MYOB by quoting a client publicly who converted from MYOB to Xero. They didn’t mention that Re-Leased software also has an integration with QuickBooks Online – but why would they? Here’s what they wrote..

How my 7 year old son learnt about credit risk and how that can help tradies

My 7 year old son lent me $5 (which I then lent to his 12 year old brother) and then he lent his brother a further $10 directly so the older brother could buy something he really wanted at the time. Is it getting complicated already!?

This lending happened over a month ago and a conflict is brewing over the $10 he lent to the 12 year old because it was underwritten by his pocket money which had not been paid at the time.

Sorry Apple, but MYOB is opting out of AccountEdge because of Catalina

MYOB AccountEdge is currently unavailable - Apple Catalina made MYOB promote MYOB Essentials Online training courses

Fortnite publisher Epic Games is splitting their software into two versions because of a fight they’ve decided to pick with Apple over the fees that Apple earn from apps in their Appstore. MYOB recently made a decision to discontinue their Mac version of accounting software called MYOB AccountEdge because of a change in the iOS software that runs most Apple PC’s.

Accounting Edge has been the long time relative of MYOB AccountRight for Windows devices and if a feature was available in one version it was often quite similar in AccountingEdge, but Apple made a change and MYOB can no longer update their software to keep up – NO WONDER they’ve been pushing their “Xero competing” version, MYOB Essentials so hard! I’ve been speaking to an ex-corporate employee from the US lately and we were talking about buying an online business. It’s something that I have spoken with people about a lot but it seems to be more relevant now that we’re all stuck at home!

The common words online business buyers and sellers use are “drop shipping”, “affiliate marketing”, and “advertising revenue” and they are synonymous with Google and Amazon. It’s little wonder these companies continue to grow during the Covid19 crisis, but there is lots more to consider.
