NEW: MYOB In Tray and Receipt Capture training course materials for MYOB Essentials

Learn how to upload tax invoices and receipts to MYOB Essentials using MYOB Intray and Capture App - EzyLearn Online Training Courses

Receipt scanning and capture is now a normal feature in MYOB Essentials. MYOB have chosen to add this feature as part of the core software rather than Xero’s approach since buying Hubdoc.

I announced in July 2021 that we were creating training materials for MYOB In Tray and Capture and If you are a current MYOB Essentials course student or Bookkeeping Academy member these training course resources are now available to you for free.

Xero vs GoDaddy Website Hosting Company Accounting Software? Attn: New Minimum Viable Website Service

Xero to re-elect Steven Aldrich as non-executive director - online customer service and receptionist services - Xero online training courses

When you look at the two companies Xero Accounting and GoDaddy hosting companies are very similar. They both provide cloud-based solutions, for a subscription fee and have small businesses as their major clients. They are both in a very good position to provide accounting software for their customers.

One of the Xero Directors sold an accounting software program to GoDaddy in 2012 and at the time TechCrunch reported that Accounting software is a logical service for them to provide to their small business clients. What does it mean for the future though?

It’s interesting and exciting that Xero now offer their Xero Learn service to training course publishers like EzyLearn for $6 per month. This ongoing access to Xero Accounting software seemed exciting at first but then I realised that it’s just accounting software! AND it’s just for training! Continuous Development is a software concept that is also known as Agile Development. As software users we’ve only really experienced this in the last decade or so as we deal with accounting programs like MYOB Essentials, Xero Accounting and QuickBooks Online constantly being updated. 

Here’s an example of what MYOB needed to go through to migrate their MYOB Tax software into the Amazon Web Services system.

Two of Australia’s newest billionaires Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar have become wealthy because they created software that enables companies like MYOB manage a team of developers, designers and analysts in the pursuit of continuously adding enhancements, updating the software, fixing bugs and providing support for their MYOB Tax software via their company Atlassian, but I digress. 

The reason for this post is because of obscure behaviour by MYOB regarding their essentials software and a recent upgrade they performed on the MYOB Essentials software.
